Yesterday, His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President of the UAE, Deputy Prime Minister and Head of the Presidential Office, witnessed the graduation of members of the “Sharia Discourse Content Creators Programme,” which was organized by the General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Endowments and Zakat, in cooperation with the New Media Academy in Dubai.

The training program, which included 20 legal competencies accredited by the General Authority for Islamic Affairs, Endowments and Zakat, aimed to qualify specialized content makers to spread the tolerant values ​​of Islam and enhance the use of modern media tools in delivering legal discourse and religious information to the widest audience, through a variety of programs. The courses used the latest scientific technologies, and a number of experts specialized in this field, including academics and local and international influencers.

Al-Darai said that the training program, which comes in cooperation with the New Media Academy, embodies the authority’s keenness to keep pace with successive developments in new media, to convey its message to the widest possible audience, by qualifying specialized cadres capable of preparing religious content that contributes to enhancing religious knowledge among people. He stressed that communication skills in the digital age are among the most important means and requirements for the success of any message, and that in order to contain extremism and chaos in exploiting these means, and reduce their bad effects, it is necessary to prepare professional national competencies qualified with the means of the future, innovative methods, and attractive, influential skills.

The “Sharia Discourse Content Creators Programme,” which was presented by the New Media Academy over a period of 100 hours, contributed to enhancing the participants’ skills in dealing with new media channels, and providing them with more innovative and influential tools.

The program included advanced workshops to improve the participants’ skills in storytelling techniques and creative writing, in addition to effective media appearance skills, and to build events and qualify them to create religious content on scientific and methodological foundations capable of spreading positive messages.

Participants in the program received training on the correct handling of the camera, control of physical emotions and movements, and visual communication, to help them present distinct content that convinces the target audience.

The training program aimed to enhance the participants’ skills in using photography and editing techniques, using a mobile phone, managing accounts, developing publishing strategies via social media platforms, the basics of social media, and new trends in publishing and digital marketing. The training program also aimed to develop the various skills that a religious content creator needs to embark on a successful career in the field of digital media and content creation, in addition to directing members to the type of content appropriate for each media platform, helping them implement their ideas at various stages, and managing their content professionally.
