I do not intend to “cover the well, after the child drowned.” Far from the above, I seek to start with a series of articles that will try to explain the meaning of the word “handling”, and reveal with them how much or little, was used in “morning” times and his influence in the past June 2 elections. As almost always, I will go to the Royal Spanish Academy (RAE) so that, starting with its learned definition, I can understand its meaning: “To intervene with skillful and sometimes cunning means, in the policyin it marketin the informationetc., with distortion of truth or justiceat the service of particular interests”.
The concept handling It derives from the Latin word manus, the hand; It dates back to the Latin used in the Middle Ages. In the tradition of Saint Gerulf it is said that a husband brought his blind wife before him, and that Gerulf made her see. The action of taking the blind person by the hand is used to easily understand the concept of the word handling.
In order not to fall short, I went to Meyer’s Encyclopedic Dictionary of 1977: “Influence exerted on man (as an individual or as a collective) in order to achieve a systematic and objective channeling and shaping of his mental consciousness and their moods. Manipulation makes independent decisions difficult, endangers the personal and social autonomy of the affected person, encourages affective-emotional decisions to the detriment of reasoned ones and, at the same time, implements a new social system of values and standards of conduct and thought, so you react to simple, agreed warnings.”
However, I believe, and I believe it well, that what has been said must be complemented with other “essential requirements.” It is better to have more than enough and not to lack it!: manipulation is a form of influence. That covers not only a small plot within the global sphere of humans. And, if that were not enough, manipulation differs from many other forms of influence because of its “intensity.” This is not an accidental influence, since it is a vigorous and persistent pressure, which must penetrate to the depths of the manipulated victims, evidently without them realizing it. The different manipulative methods against other forms of influence are based on this point.
Furthermore, I have to say that the “ghost” of manipulation is extremely dangerous, because of its hidden actions and its subliminal strategy, it cannot openly and sincerely express its purposes because this would force them to launch their power through other, totally different paths of influence. Rather, the manipulator takes advantage of the manipulated person’s lack of information, or hides his true intentions to, figuratively speaking, “fish in troubled waters.” Manipulation rests on a different motivation than the other forms of influence, since we are dealing with an indirect, covert, masked programming of objectives, with deception and simulation to hold the manipulated person more firmly. Manipulation misleads the victim, provides them with false information and tricks them. Manipulation, then, also leads to error.
