The Revolt concluded the week with the visit of Malcolm Treviño-Sittéwho introduced Broncano to his series, which is triumphing on Wednesdays on La 1, Detective Toure.
The first thing the actor commented with Broncano was that “it is a risky project because of what the series entails and because soy the first non-white protagonist of a Spanish series“.
A detail that the presenter wanted to highlight was that his guest I had worked on two historical series of television in Spain: There is no one who lives here and The one that is coming.
“I played black with an accent in the firstin a scene that featured Luis Merlo and Adriá Collado, who were Mauri and Fernando in There is no one who lives here“he recalled.
“In the other I played black without an accent. It is time for this to stop happening because you are not prepared to play characters from other places, I am from here, I have an Afro-Vallecano accent,” said Treviño-Sitté.
At one point in the interview, Broncano told him: “I have another new classic questionbut it has changed and now we are asking if we should do it or not.
“We were asking if you consider yourself more sexist or more racist. Paz Vega came and told us that she was not sure that this would help, so now the question is whether you consider whether I should continue doing it or not,” explained the man from Jaen.
“As a black man, I think you shouldn’t do it. and I’ll tell you the reason. If you invite a black girl, would she have to choose? I don’t see it,” the actor told him.
The host of the La 1 program pointed out that it is not about choosing one of the two options: “Inevitably, everyone has some sexist or racist gestureand within that, what else happens to you.”
“In my case, zero homophobia, zero transphobia and zero to any type of discrimination because I have grown up with discrimination, so I reject it completely“said Treviño-Sitté.
