The charge is to have reinvested illicit money coming from mafia clan of Barcellona Pozzo di Gotto. The provision, issued by the prevention measures section of the Court of Messina, at the request of the Attorney Maurizio De Lucia and the Quaestor, concerns various social cooperatives and agricultural-wildlife companies, public entertainment venues, hotels, properties.
The maxisequestro was born from an investigation that led to the arrest and then to the conviction for external competition in the mafia association of Santo Napoli, a former municipal councilor of Milazzo, a nurse, believed to be close to the clans of the people of Barcelona. The investigation ascertained the relations between Naples and Busacca, partners in the management of various discotheques.
According to the investigators Busacca allegedly “managed a network of cooperatives in a criminal way in the social sector. “The entrepreneur, moreover, has already been arrested for extortion and for a scam in public funds and accused of having hired some employees to obtain contributions, only to force them to resign.
