Lukashenko will face four candidates, of which the first three have even supported a victory of the current head of state: the communist Serguéi Sirankov; Republican Alexandr Jizhniak and the son of a historic Belarusian politician, Oleg Gaidukévich.
The lawyer Anna Kanopátskaya, who already attended five years ago, is the only one who has dared to criticize the management of Lukashenko, although the opposition has labeled her as “KGB candidate.”
