There energy transition he is alone electric? It is certainly so for the short-sighted politics that decided it stop on the sale of thermal cars from 2035. But in addition to the electric, there has been more for years, such as the well-known and tested cars moved by plants bifuel LPG.
LPG car, features
What are the characteristics of an LPG car? The statement is true “Petroleum gas … it will be dangerous and polluting!” False, it is quite the opposite! The GPL is not liked because it is not known.
Its reputation for dangerousness has long been obsolete and absolutely unjustified. The LPG carburetion technology, known for several decades, is now a solution safe, reliable and simple.
Like the diesel it allows to travel several km but to a lower cost and with less CO2 emissions and fine powders. This type of motorization is very common in Russia, Turkey, Poland, Ukraine and Italy.
What is the GPL?
LPG stands for Liquefied Petroleum Gas. It is a blend of hydrocarbons light, in particular butane (the domestic gas) e propane. It is a gas absolutely non-toxic. When burned, it produces almost no fine dust and limits NOx emissions. More than 60% comes from natural gas.
This energy is used in bifuel systems: the engine runs on gasoline and LPG thanks to two tanks distinct. The motorist is free to choose the carburetion.
With the GPL there is an average of 10% less emissions than petrol. In Europe, this fuel is distributed in 32,000 service stations, or ¼ of the network.
LPG cars, where are they most common?
LPG is neither a market niche nor a fashion phenomenon. On the contrary! AND since 1979 that this carburetion technology exists in the automotive industry and has taken the world by storm. The greatest adepts of this fuel are there Korea, Russia, Thailand, Mexico and Turkey. In Europe, they are at the forefront Poland, Ukraine and Italy. Today I am 28 million vehicles powered by LPG circulating around the world.
The development of LPG in these countries can be explained either by the presence of abundant ones natural gas resources or from tax breaks associated with its “clean fuel” status (less CO2 taxes and reduced ecological penalties.
In other countries, the slower diffusion of LPG is mainly due to the lack of awareness of benefits of this fuel and the lower density of service stations able to offer it.
Dacia LPG bifuel system, characteristics
The vast majority of vehicles equipped with a system bifuel is modified inaftermarket. In other words, with the intervention of specialized fitters, outside the manufacturer’s networks. But for two years now, LPG has been driven by sales.
In this context, the offers bifuel petrol / LPG as original equipment of car manufacturers multiply. Dacia, for example, it is the brand that best interprets the LPG offer in the automotive market.
From 2010 to today, it is the only brand on the market to offer this system bifuel ECO-G over its entire thermal range, consisting of Sandero, Sandero Stepway, Logan, Duster and Jogger.
The integration of LPG technology in the engine TCe 100 ECO-G it is carried out in the factory directly on the assembly lines.
Dacia LPG ECO-G, advantages
The advantages of the ECO-G LPG engine on Dacia cars are considerable. The cargo volume of the trunk is unchanged, despite the presence of the second tank, which is in place of the spare wheel. The refueling of LPG is carried out from the appropriate flap, just like for gasoline.
With LPG, the engine consumes about 15% more than gasoline, but LPG is on average 40% cheaper. It is easy to amortize the purchase of a Dacia ECO-G. Thanks to the system bifuel and, therefore, in the presence of two tanks, the autonomy exceeds 1,000 kilometers without going through the petrol station.
Running on LPG, the Sandero ECO-G offers, for example, beyond 1,300 km of autonomy. In addition, the autonomy allowed by each tank is displayed on the dashboard display. Switching to petrol is automatic if the LPG tank is empty.
With LPG, Dacia vehicles emit the 10% less CO2 compared to gasoline, offering superior torque and engine power.
