New year, new LOL – Whoever laughs is out. The place, or rather, the streaming service, is always the same: Amazon Prime Video. For the fourth time in three years, ten comedians (some more and some less) find themselves in a theater having to spend six hours together in an attempt to make each other laugh. The aim of the game, in fact, is to first warn and then expel your comedian colleagues with laughter. LOL indeed you shouldn't laugh. Countless cameras and judges will check that the participants do not even let out a smile, intervening every now and then to spice up the scenes and create entertaining material for the spectators. LOL 4 is made up of 6 episodes, the first 4 of which were released on April 1st, and with the last two arriving on the platform tomorrow, Monday 8 April.
The “new” management
He's also at the helm in LOL 4 Fedez and here we immediately need to make some reflections. Aside from the fact that we still don't understand what real doses of television communication this man has, in addition to his singing of course, wouldn't it be time to entrust a program with such a following to a face that inspires more sympathy? It is true that this is a broadcast recorded in a period well before the last few weeks, when Fedez saw his popularity collapse before him due to the Pandoro Gate of his partner (now ex) Chiara Ferragnithen with the end of the relationship with her, and finally with the judicial defeat with the former colleague Luis Sal for the case “Wild Moss“, but regardless it would be time for LOL to also be part of the rapper's “exes”.
At his side, the usual Frank Matano (and perhaps we're starting to have enough of him too), Frank Matano's laugh, and the only new addition to the management that is truly appreciated: Lillowhich thanks to his Posaman created thousands of memes related to the very first edition of the program.
The lowest point of the management occurs right at the beginning: the authors decided that Fedez should not only lead, but also participate in the game as comic and, although he came out more credible than comedians of past editions, his performance was one of the ugliest things ever seen. We're not talking about the quality of the comedy, about which naturally we can't expect much, but about the reactions to other comedians. Masked smiles and laughter, but graced by the judges and authors without any shame compared to the other participants.

But let's get to the point: who are the participants of this fourth edition of LOL? As mentioned, this year too, ten comedians (+ Fedez) competing for the title after the community victory of Fabio Balsamo And Luca Bizzarri of the past year. We also take advantage of the list for a brief opinion based on performances of the first 4 episodes…
Diego Abatantuono, expected here as one of the participants in the “outstanding” category, which LOL has always had since the first edition. In fact, there have always been comedians a cut above the others and, on paper, Abatantuono could have been one. He presented himself as somehow “super partes”, there on the sidelines to observe, participating in a punctual manner, when necessary and with few and effective words, mostly used to comment harshly (and rightly) on the performances of others. Rating 8.
Edward Ferrario, a now well-known face on social media, always present and pungent, also puts his own spin on LOL 4 and often animates so-so comical situations. Remarkable in the trap section of the program, when with little he managed to desecrate (if anything it was “Sacred”) the musical genre and create something original around it. Rating 8.
Angela Finocchiario he is a legend of Italian television and comedy. Many decades of experience brought with grace and always kindness, she turns everything she touches into gold, but here in LOL she started quietly, participating less actively and more passively. It's worth it just for the laughs that are impossible to hold back watching her expressions as she tries to hold back hers: memorable. Rating 7on trust.
Maurizio Lastrico who tries to make Fedez laugh by trying like few others, it's worth the ticket, even if the ticket isn't there. The well-known comedian creates some of the most enjoyable moments and is certainly the creator of the most ferocious jokes of the edition. Rating 8.
Aurora Leone is the quota The Jackal of this edition, after Ciro, Fru and Fabio. Aurora is the good and always present girl that we have come to know over years of Youtube and other social networks, plus a thousand other participations with or without The Jackal, and here in LOL she is not always on point. She tries with Precycle Girlwanting to bring a superheroine like Posaman, but the best moment (for the others) is created with one of the stupidest but most effective jokes you could wish for, which had to do with a certain Mina… Rating 6always on trust.
Lucia Ocone He is a myth. We know it thanks to Gialappa's Band and its imitations; in the times of Never say and of Those who football, but here in LOL he fails to give his best. Or rather, he uses some of his strong points with the legendary teleshopping, but it's not entertaining enough. Rating 6.
Giorgio Panariello he is subdued, despite the fact that one would expect him to have an endless, infinite, exaggeratedly nourished repertoire. Instead, he disappears and gets lost in the chaos of the theater, without managing to steal the scene. Partly interrupted by the others and the conductors, partly with the handbrake on. Rating 6but only for the ever immense imitation of Renato Zero with which he manages to make fun of, well, all the other competitors.
Claudio Santamaria, among the non-comedian participants in the program is certainly the best. He shows up dressed as Madonna, and rightly so, given her surname. He gives us some great acting moments as only he can do, but also some good comedic moments. Rating 7.
Rocco Tanica. Here's another champion. After helium and his Mona Lisa in the first season, another (former) member of the Elio and the tense stories. Rocco Tanica is one of the comedians without laughter, the ferocious, sharp, vulgar but not offensive ones, who manage to make people laugh without laughing. The press review of him is always wonderful and the presentation of him upside down is already history. Rating 8+
Loris Fabiani is the winner of LOL Talent Show, i.e. the preparatory broadcast for LOL 4, which decreed the tenth and final competitor among unknown participants or known only through social media. In broadcasting he is certainly below all the others and suffers from the lack of experience with sacred monsters of the genre. He fails to stand out and get noticed and indeed, he is also mocked by Diego Abatantuono, but his main comic character Lunanzio It certainly has something original about it. Rating 5.5.
In short, an edition that certainly has something good, but still a lot to provehopefully, but certainly something to change for the future, if anything there will be LOL 5, on the management.
