The negative omens regarding the physical state of Giovani Lo Celso were confirmed. The footballer from Rosario, as soon as he got off the plane at the San Pablo airport in Seville, went to the Luis del Sol sports city where Betis, already with Abde, Rui Silva and Ricardo Rodríguez, was training to continue preparing for the clash of the Saturday in El Sadar against Osasuna, and after being examined by the green and white team’s doctors, he went to the clinic where the footballers of the Sevillian teams undergo their respective medical tests. At the expense of knowing the official medical report, Lo Celso will be out for the next four to six weeks. Specifically, the medical report released by Real Betis through its official media states that the Argentine suffers a moderate grade myotendinous injury of the rectus femoris of his right thigh.
The footballer, once back in Seville, in the times in which he has been hunted by the media, both upon his arrival at the airport and during his entry and exit from the medical center where he has undergone medical tests, showed little expressive, calm and without sending worrying or reassuring messages.
Perhaps because of the situation of being surrounded by various media when he passed the medical exams, he did smile slightly as he left the clinic, located in the Bellavista neighborhood. Lo Celso was inside the clinic undergoing the tests for around half an hour and, just as when he entered he did not make any statements or even to explain the area of discomfort that prevented him from playing for Argentina against Bolivia, neither did he do so at the exit.
With all this, if the stipulated time out is met, Lo Celso will not be available to Manuel Pellegrini for the seven matches in the next 23 days: Osasuna, Atlético de Madrid, Athletic Club and Celta, in LaLiga; Copenhagen and Celje in the Conference League; and CD Gévora from the Copa del Rey (although in this match the Argentine was very likely to rest). From there, with the recovery process and the fact that he may not attend Lionel Scaloni’s next call in November, it would mark his availability starting with the visit to Valencia scheduled for the weekend of the 23rd and the November 24. In the worst case scenario, the player from Rosario would not reappear until after the Conference clash against Mlada Boleslav, scheduled for Thursday, November 28.
