Almost six months after the outbreak of the conflict, the ongoing war in Gaza shows no sign of stopping: since 7 October at least 32,623 Palestinians have been killed and more than 75 thousand have been injured during military operations conducted by Israel in the Strip. But the Jewish State also has its victims, in addition to the more than 1,100 deaths and 253 kidnapped recorded during the attacks by Hamas and Islamic Jihad, the number of Tel Aviv soldiers who died in action in the Palestinian coastal territory has reached 254.
Clashes also continue on the border between Israel and Lebanon, where the IDF claims to have killed the deputy commander of the unit responsible for launching the rockets of the Shiite armed group Hezbollah, Ali Abdel Hassan Naeem. Another five Hezbollah members died in an air raid conducted by Israel in Aleppo, Syria, which caused at least 36 victims among the ranks of fighters loyal to Bashar al-Assad's regime. An action condemned by both Russia and Iran. In all, the Lebanese movement has recorded 263 deaths among its militiamen since the start of the war in Gaza, which also reignited clashes on the northern border of the Jewish State, where Tel Aviv's Defense Minister, Yoav Gallant, asked the IDF to “expand” operations.
However, diplomacy does not stop: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered the delegation led by the director of the Mossad, David Barnea, to go to Doha, Qatar, and that of the director of the Shin Bet, Ronen Bar, to go to Cairo, in Egypt, to participate in the ongoing negotiations for a truce in the Gaza Strip in exchange for the release of the hostages kidnapped by Hamas and Islamic Jihad on 7 October. And on Monday 1 April talks could be held in Washington between Israel and the US on the planned incursion into Rafah. Meanwhile, US President Joe Biden said that Saudi Arabia and other Arab countries are “ready to fully recognize Israel”.
