Ingrit Valencia, in the quarterfinals in boxing
Colombian boxer Ingrit Valencia defeated Australian Monique Suraci and is now in the quarterfinals of the 50-kilo category of the 2024 Olympic Games boxing tournament.
Sandra Lorena Arenas, fourth in the race
Colombian Sandra Lorena Arenas was on the verge of repeating the Olympic podium in the 20-kilometer walk, finishing in fourth place in Paris 2024, two places below the second position she achieved in Tokyo 2020, but she did so with a new national record.
Arenas was once again in the group of those seeking victory behind China’s Jiayu Yang, whose breakaway was rewarded with victory, but she was unable to keep up with Spain’s MarÃa Pérez when she changed pace and decided the other two places on the podium.
Still, the Colombian never gave up and fought as hard as she could to try not to get left behind by the Australian Jemina Montag, whom she was ultimately unable to overtake.
With her fourth place, the Colombian achieved an Olympic diploma, the second for the delegation in Paris 2024.
Mariana Pajón and Colombians make their debut in BMX
Olympic medallists Mariana Pajón and Gabriela Bolle will compete in women’s BMX at the Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines BMX Stadium.

Colombian boxer Jenny Arias will try to secure a medal this Thursday at 2 pm. She is one of the delegation’s biggest contenders.
The rival is the Korean Aeji IM, who won the previous fight against the Brazilian Tatiana de Jesús Chagas, 1-4.
“I am very confident. My rival is strong. There are no easy opponents at the Olympics. We have beaten the best, she and I have two hands,” said the Colombian.
Luisa Blanco returns to the gymnastics ring
Colombian gymnast Luisa Blanco, who made her debut this Sunday, July 27, earned a spot in the women’s individual all-around final of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games competition.
