The new features of the 2024 range
LG's 2024 range offers a series of new features, such as the α11 processor with AI, present on the LG OLED evo M4 and G4 models. This is a component that improves graphics performance by 70% and has a processing speed of +30%. These models also feature Brightness Booster Max technology (+150% peak brightness).
The C4 and B4 series – which take advantage of a renewed α9 Gen7 processor with AI and the new α8 processor with AI – promise “vibrant and precise colors, deep blacks and an infinite contrast ratio”, as well as taking advantage of the AI Picture Pro to activate improved upscaling. With AI Sound Pro, however, the virtual surround sound of the speakers built into the TV is improved.
The best model, however, is the LG OLED M4 smart TV, the first OLED television with wireless video and audio transmission up to 4K 144Hz. The arrival is scheduled for the second half of the year.
All OLED models allow you to install the TV on the wall without visible cables, thanks to the Zero Connect Box. Furthermore, with a refresh rate of 144Hz and 4K resolution with HDMI 2.1, all these televisions are perfect for the gaming world, thanks also to the Game Optimizer function, support for NVIDIA G-SYNC and AMD FreeSync which eliminates tearing and stuttering.
THE QNED models they also take advantage of Quantum Dot and NanoCell technologies to improve colors and Advanced Local Dimming technology for “vivid contrast and exceptional brightness”.
Speaking specifically about the QNED86 and QNED89 models, they use a 120 Hz panel with 4 HDMI ports with VRR and FreeSync. We also add that they have a thickness of only 29 millimeters and a height-adjustable stand.
LG reconfirms the use of webOS with support for Matter, the universal smart home standard for IoT interoperability, and support for Apple AirPlay and Google Chromecast. It is also confirmed that there will be four major updates over the next five years: these upgrades will be accessible on the 2022 OLED and 2022 QNED Mini LED 8K TV models and, subsequently, will also be extended to other LG smart TVs.
