The United States authorities want Australian-born Assange to face 18 different criminal charges related to U.S. diplomatic messages and secret military documents leaked through Wikileaks, among others. According to the United States, data leaks have endangered lives.
“The Supreme Court has dismissed the application because the application did not raise a contentious legal issue,” a Supreme Court spokesman said.
According to Reuters, the extradition decision will next be ratified by the British Home Secretary. After that, Assange still has the opportunity to challenge the decision in court.
