A flexible world
After a start to the world championship in which Red Bull had taken home three one-two finishes in the first four races, very few would have believed that in just five months the Anglo-Austrian car would encounter enormous difficulties, so much so that it had failed to win in seven GPs and found itself 20 points behind McLaren in the constructors’ championship.
And after a mid-season slump, Ferrari is clearly recoveringafter the victory in Monza and the second place in Baku, so much so that he found himself at -51 from McLaren.
Leclerc jokes about updates
Ferrari, however, does not want to take flights of fancy and has set itself the goal of maximising its available package race by race: “Nlet’s not talk about the constructors’ world championship at all. Since the summer break we are maximizing the potential quite well, so we have to continue on this path. The season is still long and we cannot relax or waste time thinking about what could happen. Here we have brought a small update that I hope will help us for the rest of the year. It is not a mini DRS, but we have brought a new front wing, which is positive. I don’t know if it will be enough or not to win, but on this track we have historically been very strong and I hope it can be the same this year too”.
Carlos Sainz he returned to the post-race incident in Baku: “I had a little bit of neck pain, but that’s normal after an accident. And I’ve been sore since Thursday. After the accident I spoke with Checo to find a common ground on what happened, you all know that I have a great relationship with him. In any case, the beauty of this F1 is that depending on the circuit and the session, many can be the fastest. And I hope that this time it will be my turn. Now it seems that we have found the rhythm again after a complicated period, but to be sure we are back we are waiting for tracks like Austin or Sao Paulo, which have not been so favorable to us in the past”.
