LawBreakers was a hero arena shooter led by Cliff Bleszinski, director of Gears of War. The game is long dead, but now he's about to come backalthough not officially.
A group of enthusiasts – calling themselves RELB – is putting LawBreakers back on its feet. The project started a year ago, in fact, but only now is the team ready for the first public test.
Also Bleszinski is giving his consent, as you can see via the tweet above. The director reported the project via his official profile. You can currently download the LawBreakers launcher via the Discord channel found above in the tweet.
What is this project about?
RELB also shared the details of this project and how it works:
“This is a project to bring back the LawBreakers game, and it's being done creating 'fake' servers that the original game client uses. You can participate by downloading the launcher, installing a fix in your game, and playing as usual.”
For those unfamiliar with the game, LawBreakers is one first-person multiplayer shooter released in 2017 for PC and consoles. Made by BossKey Productions and published by Nexon, its servers were officially shut down a year later, on September 14, 2018, due to lack of interest from players.
Last year, Bleszinski said publicly that he wanted to revive the LawBreakers IP, but ultimately no official project was initiated.
