Lavrov: US talk about allowing the Ukrainian Armed Forces to strike Russia looks like agony
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov compared the conversations of US officials about the possibility of giving the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) permission to strike targets on Russian territory to agony. The head of the diplomatic department has his own opinion expressed in a conversation with journalist Pavel Zarubin.
Lavrov said that the strategic task of the United States is to “decolonize Russia” and contain the rise of its influence on the world stage. However, when it became clear to the collective West that Moscow would not put up with this state of affairs, it was decided to use Ukraine to solve this problem.
“As I understand it, these conversations reflect, in a certain sense, desperation and an understanding that they will not achieve their goal by ordinary fair means, which are used in international law even during hostilities. It looks like agony,” the minister said.

At the same time, Lavrov emphasized that the West will not be able to cross the last line in relation to Russia, after which a tough response will follow.
Earlier, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky again called on the United States and the European Union to allow Kyiv to launch artillery strikes on Russia using Western weapons.
