The COP28 Presidency announced the launch of a joint technical cooperation group to support the implementation of the provisions of the “COP28 UAE Declaration on Food Systems, Sustainable Agriculture and Climate Action,” during an event titled “Mobilizing Climate Action Efforts and Updating Nationally Determined Contributions for 2025 through Sustainable Agriculture and Climate-Resilient Food Systems.” Within the Bonn Climate Change Conference, which started yesterday and continues until June 13.
This event represents a milestone in achieving progress in implementing the “COP28 UAE Declaration on Food Systems, Sustainable Agriculture and Climate Action” to adopt and transform agricultural and food systems to confront the challenges of climate change and achieve the goals of the Paris Agreement.
The “Joint Technical Cooperation” (TCC) group was announced for the first time on the “Food, Agriculture and Water” Day within the activities of the Conference of the Parties COP28, which is a group of international partners cooperating to provide technical support to countries and help achieve the goals of the Declaration.
The CEO of COP28, Adnan Amin, stressed the importance of launching this group, and said that COP28 was able to highlight the importance and impact of the relationship between climate, food and agriculture at the highest levels, and the Food, Agriculture and Water Day at COP28 witnessed a group of major announcements about global water scarcity and food security.
