Latam informed that, through its Avião Solidário program, it has just mobilized an action in partnership with Movimento União BR to transport donations to the population of Rio Grande do Sul, victims of the floods. Donations will be taken free of charge by the company to Porto Alegre once operations at Salgado Filho Airport are normalized.
According to Latam, the partnership with the NGO will provide logistical support for donations of non-perishable food, clothing, hygiene and cleaning items. In parallel, Latam will also collect voluntary donations from its employees in all offices and 52 airports in Brazil.
Furthermore, Latam is participating in a campaign with CVC in which people can take their donations directly to the operator’s more than 1,000 stores in Brazil. The collection takes place between May 6th and 12th, and part of the donations will be transported by Latam Solidarity Plane to the Government of Rio Grande do Sul afterwards.
