Lancia will also be at the starting line of the 2024 edition of the Mille Miglia. The Turin car manufacturer will participate in the historic race with two cars: the iconic Aurelia B20 GT of 1951, which will take part directly in the race, and the new Ypsilon, which will instead be present as a support car. An appointment that Lancia is particularly keen on, as it is the return of the Italian brand to racing after six years of absence.
Lancia returns to the Mille Miglia
Lancia itself speaks of an evocative return to the 1000 Miglia: 2024 will in fact be celebrated 70th anniversary of the first victory of the Italian brand at the 1000 Miglia in 1954, with a splendid Lancia D24 spider “barchetta”, driven by the legendary driver Alberto Ascari. But not only that: again in 1954, then, together with the triumph in the 1000 Miglia, also came the victories in the Monte-Carlo Rally, the Giro di Sicilia, the Targa Florio and the Porto Grand Prix, as well as his debut in Formula 1.
The race program
We remind you that the 2024 edition of the Mille Miglia will start from Brescia next June 11thand then returning on the 15th, after four days in which he will have visited some of the most evocative locations in Italy. Evolution of this race over time is known to everyone: the competition took place as a speed race between 1927 and 1957, and then became a regularity race from 1977, to which only models who have run the competitive race or who are were produced in the same time interval.
