In less than a month, Lancia should announce a series of stylistic product innovations: in fact, the appointment with the Launch Design Day. It will be an opportunity to learn more about the restyling of Ypsilon, moreover recently immortalized on the road in the test phase? Waiting to find out, some renderings have circulated on the web that have imagined the Turin city car, to date the only model in the range, in a supermini version with crossover stylistic cues, clearly with electric engine hidden under the hood.
The renderings, made by the independent designer Maltese Design, are digital only and imagine the new generation Ypsilon with a rather premium stylistic approach, in perfect coordination with the next renewed positioning on the market of the Italian brand. The front of this Ypsilon in the EV crossover version is characterized by a rather exclusive look, with thin LED headlights, a slightly illuminated grille, elegant bumper air intakes and strong and dynamic lines to characterize the hood. Elsewhere, the car is distinguished by large-diameter alloy wheels and one generous ground clearance, as well as for the wheel arches finished in glossy black. Mention also for the side windows and C-pillars as a subtle reference to the historic Lancia Delta, but also for the toned rear shoulders, the flush door handles and the cameras replacing the mirrors that bring this Ypsilon back to the modern era.
As mentioned, the powertrain that equips this Ypsilon crossover is 100% electric, which is why Maltese Design has designed this render so that it can be adapted to the Stellantis eCMP platform, shared with the electric DS 3 E-Tense, Peugeot e-2008 and Opel Mokka-e. Recall that Lancia has already confirmed that it is working on the new generation of Ypsilon that will debut in 2024: will be offered with both hybrid and electric propulsion options, before the entire brand becomes full electric by 2028.
