Appointment with the legend in Spa, for the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europa. On the over seven kilometers of the historic and fascinating Belgian track, the championship reserved for the Huracán Super Trofeo EVO2 arrives this week (9-11 May), on the same weekend as the 6 Hours valid for the FIA World Endurance Championship, which will also see the start the Lamborghini SC63 LMDh which made its debut in the World Championship this year under the colors of the Lamborghini Iron Lynx team.
The Ardennes circuit is the only one to have hosted all the editions of the Sant’Agata Bolognese brand’s single-make series since 2009 and is home to the second of the six rounds of the season, after the inaugural round in Imola, which Last April it recorded a record field of 52 cars, the highest number ever achieved in the same continental series.
Ali-Söderström ahead of everyone in the PRO class
Full of entries in the Pro class, in which the crew formed by Largim Ali and Oliver Söderström presents itself as leaders. A victory and a second place in the opening of the Santerno for the Target Racing team, which arrives in Spa in the role of leader.
At four points is the Belgian Amaury Bonduel (BDR Competition by Grupo Prom), who won Race 2 in Imola after having obtained two poles out of two and who, on his home track, two years ago, won his first success in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europa.
Third place was Leonardo Caglioni and Enzo Geraci, both making their debut in the series this year and immediately on the podium in Imola with the Oregon Team, where they achieved a third and fourth place in that order. Sebastian Balthasar and Jacob Riegel have also already reached the podium, with the Leipert Motorsport team achieving a better second place, and the Iron Lynx crew formed by Stefan Bostandjiev and Pavel Lefterov, third in Race 2.
Also doing well in Imola were Mattia Michelotto and the other Belgian driver Gilles Stadsbader, who last weekend also won at the wheel of the Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO2 of the VSR team in the first round of the Italian Gran Turismo Sprint Championship which it is held in Misano.
The young rookie Hampus Ericsson (Target Racing), Alberto Di Folco and the new arrival Benedetto Strignano (Rexal Villorba Corse) also scored twice in the points and the other Oregon Team crew formed by Paul Levet and Laszlo Toth, both also at debut in the Lamborghini single-brand series. Looking for confirmation are, among others, Andrea Frassineti and Ignazio Zanon, immediately highlighted with VSR.

In the Pro-Am the Formanek-Rosina duo leads
After opening the season with a second place and a victory, Bronek Formanek and Stefan Rosina drive in Pro-Am with the Micanek Motorsport team powered by Buggyra. Behind them, eight points behind, follow Milos Pavlovic and Alessio Ruffini, with the ASR extremely constant throughout the entire weekend in Imola, in which they achieved a fourth and a third place starting from pole in Race 1.
A victory also for Renaud Kuppens and Roee Meyuhas (Boutsen VDS). The Iron Lynx duo of Claude-Yves Gosselin and Joran Leneutre and the Lamborghini Stüttgart by Target Racing team of Calle Bergman and Guido Luchetti also immediately got onto the podium.
Convincing return for Perolini and Roda
Return and victory in Imola for Pietro Perolini and Davide Roda with the Oregon Team, who, thanks also to a second place, jumped to the head of the Am class. Nigel Bailly’s first success also arrived on the Emilian circuit, twice on the podium with ART-Line is now second in the standings, three points away.

The Lamborghini Cup in the name of Harmsen
In the Lamborghini Cup we start again with Holger Harmsen, who arrives at Spa as leader thanks to two second placings. Two points behind the German of GT3 Poland is Shota Abkhazava (ART-Line), in Imola ahead of everyone in Race 2 and author of a pole.
A victory also for the Brutal Fish Racing Team pairing of Charlie Martin and Jason Keats, now fourth in the standings on equal points with Paolo Biglieri and Petar Matic (ASR), followed by Luciano and Donovan Privitelio (Rexal Villorba Corse), in the father and son order.
In the same class in Spa, on the one that represents their track, the brothers François and Benoit Semoulin, who won the title in 2019, make their return.

The program
The Spa weekend program will come into full swing on Thursday 9 May with the two one-hour free practice sessions starting at 9.10am and 3.10pm.
Qualifying (two 10-minute sessions) will start on Friday 10 May at 9.55am and will be followed by the first of two 50-minute races, with the rolling start and the mandatory pit stop, which will start at 5.35pm.
Saturday 11 May, Race 2 will start at 9.15am. Both races will be broadcast live on the Lamborghini Squadra Corse YouTube channel.
