Giorgio Sanna is no longer the Head of Lamborghini's Motorsport sector and his place will be taken for the moment by Rouven Mohr.
News that comes like a bolt from the blue in the debut year of the SC63 LMDh between FIA WEC and IMSA, after over a decade of collaboration between the ex-Roman driver and the Sant'Agata Bolognese company, carried out with great patience and I work to be a protagonist in the GT championships and today I am also ready to undertake a new adventure among the prototypes, not to mention the great growth of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo.
Sanna had not gone “for personal reasons”, as justified by the men of Toro, to Lusail for the 1812 km of Qatar on 2 March, but from here to think that the leaders of the Volkswagen Group were even forced to replace him it was a lot.
Instead, today the announcement arrived that the Roman is abandoning the role and that Mohr will inherit it 'ad interim'.

“Automobili Lamborghini informs that today Giorgio Sanna has resigned from the company and from the role of Head of Motorsport, which he held since 2015”, reads the official press release.
“The functions of Head of Motorsport are assumed on an interim basis by Dr. Ing. Rouven Mohr, already responsible for the motorsport department, as Chief Technical Officer of Automobili Lamborghini”.
The German, who returned to Lamborghini last year as Technical Manager after having been active in Audi Sport, in recent months had increased his presence at the events in which the Emilian cars were involved with official support.
Having celebrated 60 years since its foundation in 2023, Lamborghini is now preparing to face brand new challenges, not only from the point of view of on-track activities, therefore, but also with regards to the behind-the-scenes management of all its sporting activities.
