Negotiators from the parties met on Wednesday to discuss the continuation of negotiations. Aallon by The Board of the Confederation of Finnish Industry will meet on Friday to evaluate the whole. The situation will be reassessed after that meeting, Ruohoniemi wrote.

Negotiations on a new collective agreement in the sector failed last Tuesday and the sector has been in a state of disarray since the beginning of December.

The parties have previously reported that views on the level of pay rises have been far apart. Issues related to the wage settlement are still open, the employer side said briefly in the bulletin on wednesday.

Workers and white-collar workers in the technology industry declared a ban on overtime in the sector last week. The ban is due to end on December 19th.

For the first time, the technology industry employers’ association represents the employer side of the negotiations.

The Confederation of Finnish Industry is Finland’s largest industrial trade union with about 200,000 members. The members of the union work in 35 contract industries.
