Nazarov: they demanded strategic plans from the Armed Forces of Ukraine without strategic resources
The authorities demanded a “road map” for victory from the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU), without telling them the number of people, ammunition and reserves that would be needed to carry out any plan. About it stated Advisor to the former Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Viktor Nazarov, in an interview with The New York Times (NYT).
“Unfortunately, our political leadership did not understand or did not want to understand this when they demanded military strategic plans without strategic reserves and resources,” he said.
Nazarov also noted that the Ukrainian army was concerned about such demands from Kyiv. At the same time, the general emphasized that disagreements should not obscure the fact that the military and civilian leadership have the goal of winning the conflict.
Earlier, NYT journalists, citing the commander of NATO forces in Europe, American General Christopher Cavoli, reported that Ukraine could attempt a second counteroffensive in 2025. At the same time, the best result for Kyiv is a significant freezing of the conflict.
