KTM, two wild cards announced for Jerez and Mugello
The KTM platoon will be enriched in the Spanish Grand Prix (26-28 April) and in the Italian Grand Prix (31 May-2 June). In fact, Daniel will be driving the RC16s Pedrosa (in Jerez de la Frontera) and Pol Espargarowhich will instead compete at Mugello.
Pedrosa, who raced at Jerez and Misano last year, surprised everyone with a sixth and seventh place in Spain and a double fourth position at the “Marco Simoncelli”. For Espargaró, Mugello is instead the race to return to MotoGP after being “on foot” in favor of Pedro Acosta this year.
Pedrosa's words
“Last year I had a lot of fun in Jerez and the welcome from the fans was fantastic. We all know that Jerez is a special place. It will also be important for us to use some references for our tests and put them back into the race environment. This is the main reason to compete in 2024“.
Espargaró's words
“I'm very happy to be back racing and especially at Mugello, which is a very special place to get on a MotoGP. It will be nice to be back on the grid with the boys. The tests went very well and I am very motivated. After injury in 2023 I'm back to what I used to be. I can't wait to rejoin the MotoGP 'family' and demonstrate that our testing work is strong and fast.“.
