German Maximilian Kiefer advanced to the top 50 this season in the DB World Tour, to revive his hopes of qualifying in this exclusive list for the season-ending tournament that will be held in Dubai next November in the largest event of its kind in the world of golf.
The 32-year-old Kiefer’s progress came after winning the Czech D&D Masters title, scoring 460 points, which made him move 65 steps from 97th to 32nd according to the DB World Tour classification issued this week.
This is the player’s first victory in eight years, when he won the BMW Masters title in 2014, and came at a perfect timing that translated his superiority in the championship competitions held in the Czech Republic, where the calendar of the DB World golf tour, which is sponsored by DP World, is being held. 45 championships in 24 countries around the world this season, including the championships that are held in the UAE, namely Abu Dhabi HSBC, Dubai Desert Classic, Ras Al Khaimah, Ras Al Khaimah Classic, and the DB World Tour.
The German Kiefer expressed his happiness with the victory, and he spoke after winning the Czech title, and said: I do not know how I feel, it takes me a few days to absorb it, I just love golf and I love to play this sport, even if I do not win, but of course winning makes it better.
The top 50 exclusives over the course of the season qualify for the final tournament, the DB World Tour Championships at Jumeirah Golf Estates from November 17-20, which offers a prize money of $10 million.
