Kia, sales up in February | FormulaPassion.it

Kia Corporation has released sales figures for the month of February they record an increase of 4.7% on an annual basis with 221,152 units sold worldwide. The excellent performance of this second month of the year was possible thanks to the launch of highly competitive new models on the Indian market, such as the brand new Niro and the Carens minivan. Kia’s strategy of minimizing disruptions in the component supply chain also played a key role in the impressive performance this month.

The domestic market absorbed 39,560 units, an increase of 5.3% compared to February 2021. SUV models drove sales in the domestic market. Sorento took the top spot with 4,776 units, followed by the all-new Sportage with 3,781 vehicles. Sales outside the Korean market increased by 4.5% compared to the same month last year, with 181,592 units sold. Sportage and Seltos were the most popular models with respectively 20,987 and 20,877 units sold, followed closely by Rio with 18,427 units. For the future, Kia intends to flexibly adapt production based on the availability of components and, through specific measures, minimize production stops.

Kia aims to give new impetus to sales and the improved profitability with new models like the brand new Niro and the award-winning EV6, 100% electric. Kia EV6, the revolutionary model designed on a dedicated platform (E-GMP), triumphed at the European Car of the Year 2022, consecrating Kia as the first Korean brand to win the prestigious award, testifying to Kia’s commitment to becoming a sustainable mobility solutions provider.
