Although when we talk about collaborations between Pokemon and fast food brands, we usually point to McDonald’s as the home of Pikachu and company toys, A new collaboration has recently been confirmed between the beloved Nintendo property and, this time, KFC.
Through its social networks, KFC in China has revealed a new collaboration with Pokémon to celebrate Children’s Day in this country. Starting next May 18, all interested parties will be able to purchase a children’s package, which offers hamburgers, nuggets and potato wedges, and You will be able to obtain one of the five special figures available.

On this occasion, The selection is made up of Pikachu, Mimikyu, Psyduck, Gengar and Togepi. The interesting thing is that consumers will not be able to choose the toy they get, but rather they will be chosen at random. This means that to get the entire collection, fans will have to purchase more than five children’s packs at KFC.
It will be interesting to see if this promotion eventually leaves China and reaches more countries.. On related topics, Krispy Kreme announces collaboration with Pokémon. Likewise, localization into Latin Spanish reaches Pokémon Go.
Author’s Note:
These toys look interesting, but the fact that you can’t choose which one to receive is a ruthless tactic that will keep consumers coming back again and again until they have the entire collection, something that won’t happen quickly, especially in places where distribution may not be equitable.
