Lo-Fi Games has revealed via a press release that the open world sandbox role-playing game Kenshi has sold more than 2.3 million copiesnoting that on Steam 95% of user reviews are positive, for an overall rating of “Very Positive”.
The occasion was the launch of the game onEpic Games Store for €26.99where it will hopefully gain some resonance.
Kenshi launched in December 2018 after 12 years of development. Despite the time that has passed and despite the fact that it is not managed as a live service (it is still updated for free with a certain frequency), today it continues to boast an average of 39,000 daily active players, with peaks of 8,200 concurrent players. The secret of its success is the very high replayability, which has led approximately 10% of the most dedicated players to accumulate more than 500 hours of play each.
It is also highlighted that the game has more than 14,600 mods available Steam Workshopwhich have certainly extended its longevity.
Chris Hunt, the Game Director of Lo-Fi Games, is naturally happy with the result and the constant interest of the players, which has led to the formation of a truly strong community. Who knows if they will ever launch a real sequel.
