Karl Urban, a New Zealand actor who we recently saw at work in the exclusive Amazon Prime Video series The Boys, is one of the candidates to play the role of Wolverine in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In this regard, a video appeared on YouTube that “sees him at work” in the role of Logan.
The reason for the quotation marks is easy to say: it is obviously a deepfake video. The performance of Butcher’s interpreter, however, is absolutely sensational. The video was made by the stryder HD channel and compares the interpretation of Hugh Jackman (the old Wolverine) and that of Karl Urban.
The New Zealand actor would be perfect in that role, as this video lasting just over two minutes demonstrates. The quality of the deepfake isn’t exciting, but what is certain is that Urban would be perfect for a role like this. After all, in the comments section is a riot of very convinced yes.
In any case, the actor who, among other things, took part in Phil Jackson’s The Lord of the Rings trilogy, he’s not the only one running for this role. Among the various suitors there is also Daniel Radcliffe. The British actor, best known for playing Harry Potter in the film saga based on the books of the same name written by JK Rowling, said he was enthusiastic about the idea.
Unfortunately, by his own admission, no one from Marvel sought him out to offer him an audition. For this reason, Karl Urban, fresh from the success of The Boys (here our review of the third season), remains the number one candidate for the role of Wolverine.
It will be necessary to understand in which direction Kevin Feige will move, the president of Marvel Studios, as well as the man who pulls the strings of the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe. The final choice will be up to him, but we are sure that whatever the choice is, replacing an extraordinary actor like Hugh Jackman will be complicated.
