Chiapas.- Seconds Before being shot by an armed assailant, Paula managed to take a picture of her that became a trend in social networks, where they demand justice for his death.
The 41-year-old woman was killed. by a criminal who stole a motorcycle in the early hours of this Sunday, February 20, on Crescencio Rosas Avenue, corner with Álvaro Obregón, in San Cristóbal de las Casas, capital of Chiapas.
The woman’s son, named Miguel Alejandro, reported that he parked the yellow Italika-type motorcycle on Crescencio Rosas Avenue and went to the hotel where his mother worked as a receptionist. Upon leaving the site, they did not find the unit.

When looking for the motorcycle, mother and son found a man who was pulling it on Álvaro Obregón Street and Miguel Hidalgo Alley; Meanwhile, a possible accomplice was waiting for him later to take him away, according to local media.
The same version indicates that Paula and her son confronted the criminals and demanded that they return the motorcycle. One of the robbers pulled out a firearm and shot the woman at chest height while she took a photo of herself.
After the bullet impact, Paula fell to the ground almost immediately. She was admitted to the Hospital de Las Culturas around 02:00. However, the doctors confirmed that she lost her life before being transferred to the hospital.
The Altos Zone Prosecutor’s Office opened an investigation folder to find those responsible for the crime, therefore, they deployed an operation in the area of the events to find the alleged perpetrators.

In parallel, users of social networks published a photo of the alleged aggressors together with #JusticiaparaPaula, because the woman left her son an orphan with his death.
