The former Brazilian goalkeeper talked about Mourinho and the moment he left the Nerazzurri and decided to move to England
Julio Cesar, former Inter goalkeeper, in an interview granted to Sport Bible spoke about Mourinho and the moment he left the Nerazzurri and decided to move to England: “For me Mourinho will be considered one of the best coaches in football. His mentality, his philosophy, his working methodology and his way of coaching players … takes a normal player and makes him believe he is the best in the world. It’s incredible. Regret going to QPR in 2012? I don’t think why the Premier League is the best league in the world. I think every soccer player should have this opportunity to play in the Premier League. The atmosphere, the stadiums, the fans, it’s perfect. When I decided to move to QPR, financially it was great for me, I have to be honest. I didn’t have any other offers because at that moment I was getting a good salary from Inter and nobody wanted to give me what I received. When I arrived at QPR for this project there were other big names and I accepted, because I realized that my time at Inter was over. I had a lot of fun because when I decided to move to QPR I thought I would do well in my first season, so maybe thanks to my name I would have hired a bigger club. At the end of the season I remember almost having signed with Arsenal but we didn’t find an agreement. But it was great because I played some great games, especially against some of the biggest clubs: Manchester City, Arsenal, Tottenham, Chelsea. I wanted to play the World Cup in Brazil in 2014 and the only solution I found was to choose to go to QPR. I don’t regret my choice because I enjoyed it“.
