Veracruz.– Workers of the Federal Judicial Branch of the Seventh Circuit distanced themselves from the bottles thrown at President Andrés Manuel López Obrador this Sunday, during his visit to the house in Benito Juárez.
In a statement signed by Circuitos Unidos – Movimiento de Trabajadores del Séptimo Circuito, they distanced themselves from the attempted “physical assault” against the head of the Executive and accused Morena supporters of throwing objects.
“The workers of the Judicial Branch of the Federation of the Seventh Circuit disassociate themselves from any attempt at physical aggression perpetrated against the head of the Federal Executive. “We strongly condemn the incident and specify that, although we went to demonstrate peacefully outside the ‘Casa Juárez’ building, it was people close to the Movimiento de Regeneración Nacional (MORENA) party – as they identified themselves – who threw various objects such as rocks, bottles, among others, both at the attending authorities and at the workers who were demonstrating,” they accused.
As evidence, judicial workers referred to videos and photographs circulated that day on social media, where attacks on protesters and local journalists can be seen.
“We reiterate our condemnation of the violent events that occurred today and publicly denounce the presence of instigators of violence during this public event. “We request the immediate dismissal of the person identified on social media as Jorge Cedillo Guevara, an employee of the regional policy department of the General Secretariat of the Government of Veracruz, who acted in a visceral manner, encouraging violence and aggression among all the people present at the event,” they said.
