The Sevilla captain received the award for best male athlete of the year 2024
Jesus Navas keep receiving awards and recognitions just weeks before retiring of professional football. On this occasion, it was again his hometown, The Palaces and Villafrancawho honored the Sevilla captain on Tuesday night with the award for best male athlete of the year 2024 at the VII Palace Sports Gala. Navas already received this same recognition in 2018, while last year, 2023, he was named the palace athlete with the greatest national and international projection.
After receiving the award from the mayor of Los Palacios and Villafranca, Juan Manuel ValleNavas thanked his neighbors for this recognition: “Whenever I receive an award in my town it is a very great pride.I always take my people wherever I go and I feel the love of all of you. I thank my family, who is always there at all times and It is wonderful to be here with you today.”
7,667 days after his debut with the first team, Jesús Navas is a living legend of the Sevilla team, being, with 700 appearances, the player with the most games played defending the Nervionense team, a mark he has held for seven seasons after surpassing Pablo White. Furthermore, the player from the palace has to his credit being the Sevilla player with the most titles in the history of Sevilla FC. At the international level, Jesús Navas is the only player in the history of football to have won a World Cup, two European Championships and a UEFA Nations League, and he is also the Sevilla player with the most appearances for the senior national team.
