Jeep is one of the few brands in the Stellantis group that has not yet launched a 100% electric model on the market. But for the US brand, the wait will not last long: Carlos Tavares, the CEO of Stellantis, has announced that the debut of the first battery-powered B-SUV of the Jeep brand will take place in 2023. A choice dictated by the broader strategy presented by Stellantis, which foresees that by 2030 all the new models of the brands of the group born from the merger of FCA and PSA they will be powered exclusively by a fully electric engine.
And on the occasion of the presentation of the strategic plan “Dare Forward 2030”, Stellantis showed the first render images of the first Jeep branded electric B-SUV. If the details shown in the preview were to be confirmed also on the series version of the first battery-powered Jeep, the recalls with the other thermal and hybrid models currently offered in the range would be evident. But obviously there will be aesthetic elements that are not found on the current Compass, Renegade and Grand Cherokee: let’s think of the optical groups, the wheel arches and the grille, just to name a few. According to rumors that have been circulating for some time, the new Jeep branded electric B-SUV will be introduced as a successor of the current Renegadein production since 2014 and destined to leave the scene within a few years.
