Criminals are improving methods of delivering prohibited items to pre-trial detention centers and colonies. About it RIA News told the Federal Penitentiary Service (FSIN).
In particular, air cannons and quadcopters were used to transfer mobile phones to prisoners. There have also been attempts to smuggle gadgets into the forbidden territory using crossbows and slingshots. All in all, by September 1, more than 38.5 thousand mobile communication devices were seized from the institutions of the penal system.
The FSIN explained that the administrations of the colonies know the most dangerous areas in terms of transfer, and they are additionally equipped with lighting devices, video surveillance cameras, as well as fences.
On August 17, in the Smolensk region, an employee of SIZO-1 was detained while receiving a bribe. According to the investigation, the suspect received 15 thousand rubles for the transfer of objects prohibited in the institution to the convicted man. The crime was revealed by operatives of the regional department of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia.
On June 29, it was reported that in Samara, a former senior technician of correctional colony No. 6 was sentenced to three years in a general regime colony and a fine of 75 thousand rubles, who handed over mobile phones to the prisoner.
