The 100 and 4×100 Olympic champion has been on hold since May 23rd. Now the goal becomes Eugene’s World Cup
The 100 and 4×100 Olympic champion Marcell Jacobs will not be on track at the Golden Gala in Rome on June 9th. The investigations carried out today in the Capital, at the Institute of Sports Science, have shown that the blue has not fully recovered from the first degree distraction-elongation diagnosed on 23 May.
World Cup goal

On the recommendation of the Fidal medical staff, the blue sprinter, together with his coach Paolo Camossi, will continue training with a period of medium intensity work, with the final goal set in participating in the Eugene World Championships and the European Championships in Monaco. This planning will prevent Jacobs from participating in some competitive events already scheduled, starting with the Golden Gala Pietro Mennea on 9 June at the Olympic stadium in Rome.
