Esteban Chaves, who was on the podium on day 2 of the tour, lost almost ten minutes with respect to the leader and dropped from third place to number 33 with 9 minutes and 48 seconds difference.
Now, Sosa is the Colombian best placed in the general classification. Another Colombian who had a movement in the general classification was Sergio Higuita, who is currently located in box 24, 4 minutes and 5 seconds behind the leader.
The fourth stage of the Tour of the Alps will be held on a 141.3 kilometer route between Laives and Borgo Valsugana.
The route will have two mountain prizes and several short climbs of which one, 10 km from the finish line, will be decisive in the dispute for the stage.
