The MotoGP World Championship reaches its eighth grand prix of the season with the Italian GP. Mugello was Ducati territory between 2017 and 2019, winning three consecutive races there, but Fabio Quartararo broke his streak last season with his victory the year in which he was proclaimed World Champion. The mark of Borgo Panigale also comes with Bastianini’s victory in the French GP, under his arm.
In MotoGP, Fabio Quartararo remains leader of the championship after being fourth in France. The Frenchman lost a margin of difference with Aleix Espargaró, who finished third in Le Mans and was placed just four points behind. In Moto2, Vietti also continues to lead the World Championship with 16 points over Ogura. And in Moto3, Sergio García dominates the general with 17 points over Masiá.
