Mexico.- The former presidential candidate Ricardo Anaya Cortés celebrated that AMLO’s electrical reform was “slowed down” by the opposition by not obtaining the qualified majority it needed in the Chamber of Deputies.
Through a new video published this Monday, April 18 on social networks, Ricardo Anaya highlighted the usefulness ofunited opposition” for Mexico, as he warned that the electrical reform would cause “a great deal of damage” by putting “dirty” energy obtained from the burning of fuel oil before clean or renewable energies.
“One important thing we learned is that the united opposition is very useful to Mexico, and that we live served to stop another foolishness of the president and his government. His electrical reform, the so-called bartlett law did not reach a qualified majority in the Chamber of Deputies, an initiative that it would cause a lot of damage for a very simple reason: because the Bartlett law puts dirty and expensive energy above clean energy, which is produced with the wind, with the sun’s rays and is cheaper,” he said. The PAN accused that Morena’s party and its allies did everything possible for the initiative to pass, reaching the point of trying to block access to San Lázaro to the opposition deputy so that they could not vote. “When that didn’t work for them, they changed the date at the last minute to vote for it on Holy Sunday, no less,” he said.
He insisted that “unity is the key” for the opposition to stop the initiatives of the government of Andrés Manuel López Obrador, about whom he warned that he would try to deceive the people by blaming the opposition for the high prices of electricity because they voted in against the amendment to the Electricity Industry Law (LEL).
“It would be very naive to claim victory, because now López Obrador is going to try to fool you with the story that he cannot lower the price of electricity and he is going to use as a pretext that his initiative did not pass, which is completely absurd, because what they wanted to do was generate electricity 5 times more expensive, not cheaper, in addition to the fact that it is polluting”, considered the former PAN presidential candidate.
Ricardo Anaya was optimistic after the “defeat” of the electrical reform and the referendum to revoke the mandate, which stood out for its scant citizen participation, and even announced that in the 2024 presidential election the will get Morena out of Mexicosince he maintains that the ruling party has stood out for its “terrible results.”
He assured that, in case of reaching the presidency, people will not stop receiving the support of social programs that they already receive, but “there will be more” and with better services.

“There is no longer any doubt that we can defeat Morena, in 2024 we are going to remove them because they have given terrible results: we have a stagnant economy, more poverty, an insecure country where people live in fear. And with better management of the economy, the support and services that people receive will not go away: there will be more support and better services, especially health and education,” Anaya insisted on 2024.
Finally, Anaya Cortés declared that “the next battle” will be to defend the National Electoral Institute (INE), with which he maintains that AMLO seeks to end it through an electoral reform, after months of tensions and attacks against the electoral body.
