French President Emmanuel Macron's stay in Brazil has come to an end, but he left countless memories. Since the arrival of the French leader, last Tuesday (26), the leader has starred in moments ranging from signed agreements to criticism of the commercial partnership between the European Union and Mercosur, including “wedding rehearsal” photos with President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT).
In a social media postIn fact, Macron stated that “it was a marriage” and that the two countries love each other. Furthermore, the French president highlighted the welcome shown by the Brazilian people and detailed what he did in each city he visited.
” In Belém, we were able to walk together through this shared Amazon and confirm our common determination to fight for forests and people. We saw in Rio de Janeiro the strength of our cooperation in the defense sector, with the launch of Tonelero, the third submarine of our partnership. We had extremely fruitful discussions with the economic, cultural and intellectual world in São Paulo”, he stated.
Macron also highlighted that Lula's election restored institutional balance, in addition to starting a new chapter in the Brazil-France relationship. “We believe in democracy. We believe in the future and we believe that there is always a path to optimism and progress. We share values that are at the heart of our common history. We have just opened a new chapter in our relationship”, he concluded.
The visit to Brazil ended in Brasília (DF), where Macron participated in events with Lula at Praça dos Três Poderes and a lunch at Itamaraty.
