More than six months after the start of the conflict, beyond 34.15o Palestinians died in the Gaza Strip. But the clashes are not over and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's government continues to prepare the latest offensive on Rafah, where around 1.4 million displaced people have taken refuge. From the EU, the High Representative for European Foreign Policy, Josep Borrell, launched an appeal to Tel Aviv: “Israel does not attack Rafah: it would cause 1 million deaths”. French President Emmanuel Macron, in a telephone conversation with the head of the Israeli government, also called for “an immediate and lasting ceasefire”. In the meantime, however, three other mass graves have been discovered in Khan Younis, a city from which the IDF withdrew at the beginning of April, from which over 70 lifeless bodies were recovered. Below is the latest news from today, Tuesday 23 April 2024, on the war between Israel and Hamas and the ongoing crisis in the Middle East.
