The tonadillera faces three years in prison for the sale of the house she shared in Marbella with Julián Muñoz
Among a cloud of journalists, cameras and microphones, Isabel Pantoja testified again at the Provincial Court of Malaga. A scene reminiscent of her experience nine years ago, when the tonadillera began the judicial journey that ended with her entering prison. However, while in 2013 the citizens crowded into the City of Justice to shout “thief”, now, a small group of fans showed her support: “We love you” and “we are with you”, she was heard.
Already inside the room, Isabel was facing three years in prison as a necessary cooperator in a crime of insolvency punishable by the sale of the Mi gitana house in the La Pera urbanization, the home she shared with Julián Muñoz in Marbella. The trial began at 10:15 a.m. and the singer arrived minutes before dressed in rigorous black, with glasses and a mask. However, nothing could hide her worried face. At the beginning of her statement, the judge asked her how she was doing and she shook her head while she began to cry without being able to control her tears.
The room has remained silent for five minutes while the tonadillera recomposed herself. Later, Isabel declared that she did not know the debts that her company Panriver 56 had or what actions were taken to settle them. It all happened while she was in jail and it was her brother, Agustín, who was in charge of paying them. “I trust my brother because he is the only person I have,” she underlined when the judge asked about him. “What my brother has done, he has done well, I fully trust him, he would die for me and would not harm me,” she reiterated. “He just wanted to save my heritage, I didn’t care about the house,” she said. A sale that was closed through an out-of-court settlement from which a third creditor was harmed, who has been the one who has brought the singer to trial to defend her economic rights. For his part, Agustín Pantoja argued that he only signed what was put in front of him.
Around 1:30 p.m. the trial ended and to avoid further crowds, they allowed the singer and her brother to leave directly by car through another door. And while that was happening in Malaga, in Madrid, on the set of ‘The Ana Rosa Program’, Isabel Pantoja’s daughter was having a hard time watching her mother climb the stairs of the City of Justice. “Reliving this must be horrifying for her,” said the visibly affected young woman. “I would love to be with her and help her, give her a kiss or a hug,” she continued through tears. Her cousin Anabel also spoke on social networks lamenting how her aunt’s entrance had been that she had to be strongly escorted by the Civil Guard to access the court.
The one who seemed totally apart from what his mother was experiencing was Kiko Rivera who, while the artist testified before the judge, he published a series of photographs kissing his wife with a declaration of love for her: “I don’t know why they insist in wanting to separate us, I don’t know why so many lies are invented, I don’t know why they don’t have so much envy or so much hate. What I do know is that I love you above the world. I love you darling”.
His brother, Fran Rivera, has also taken advantage of his participation in Public Mirror to take it out on Isabel Pantoja: «I’m not happy about the evil that happens to anyone, but I don’t get sad either. Things are as they are », he began. “Bad people, it’s normal for bad things to happen to them. And this woman is not good. I have been saying it for a long time, but this woman deserves everything that happens to her”, he affirmed to end by affirming that if the tonadillera is not “the richest of the national artisteo” it is because of “arrogance” and “greed” .
