Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree conferring the title of People's Artist on actress Irina Pegova. The corresponding document was published on April 3 on the official Internet portal legal information.
She was awarded the title for the development of cinematic and theatrical art. The same title was given to artists Sergei Belyaev, Vladimir Bukharov, Vladimir Galchenko, Vadim Zaplechny, Mikhail Kornilov, Konstantin Lavronenko, Alexander Semchev, Denis Sukhanov, Sergei Ugryumov and Oleg Khanov.
Pegova was born on June 18, 1978, and graduated from GITIS in 2001. After graduating from school, she began working at the Moscow Theater “Pyotr Fomenko Workshop”. She also played at the Moscow Theater-Studio under the direction of Oleg Tabakov, the Moscow Chekhov Art Theater, and the Moscow Academic Theater named after Mayakovsky. Her filmography includes more than 110 roles, she starred in such films as “Walk” (2003), “Admiral” (2008), “Crew” (2016), “Godunov” (2018), “Chaliapin” (2023) and others .
Earlier, on March 14, Putin awarded the Order of Friendship to People's Artist of the Russian Federation Valery Barinov and the Order of Alexander Nevsky to People's Artist of the RSFSR Alexander Mikhailov. The artists were awarded for their services to the development of national culture and art and many years of fruitful creative activity.
