An Iraqi technical committee that investigated a huge explosion inside a military base containing Popular Mobilization Forces ruled out that it was the result of an external attack, likely occurring as a result of highly explosive materials stored at the site.
Yesterday, the Supreme Technical Committee in charge of investigating the Kalsu camp explosion incident, north of Babil Governorate, issued its final report, noting that the severity of the explosion and the size of the scattered materials from projectiles, missiles, and explosive materials could not in any way be caused by a missile or several airborne missiles.
The Security Media Cell said in a statement, “After an extensive and in-depth study of all the data, the committee issued its final report, which confirmed that the size of the crater confirms the occurrence of a very large explosion of weapons and highly explosive materials that were present in the place.”
The report indicated that all reports issued by the Air Defense Command confirm that there was no movement of combat aircraft or drones throughout the airspace of Babil Governorate before, during and after the time of the explosion, and that the severity of the explosion and the size of the scattered materials of projectiles, missiles and explosive materials could not in any way be influenced by One or several airborne missiles.
