The next generation of iPhones will be presented on September 7 with an online keynote from Apple, with a launch in stores on the 16th of the same month. If we already know for sure that there will be two sizes (6.1 and 6.7 inches) and two models (iPhone 14 and 14 Pro), there are still some details that the rumors herald as real trump cards of this new family of phones from the Apple. On paper, in fact, the elements that will differentiate it from that of the iPhone 13 still seem few: the same processor for the base model, the same design if not for the new front camera on the Pros, and the always-on display almost sure. Plus, Apple won’t be giving up on the lightning port on its phone this year either. But here is the first unconfirmed news.
The new iPhones could integrate a new generation of lightning that will allow not only faster charging on all models (30W against the 23 of the iPhone 13 Pro), but also a data transfer at 5 Gbps against the 480 Mbps of the previous generation. A faster transfer rate will be needed if the iPhone 14 Pro is truly capable of recording 8K video. The batteries of the new models will also be more capacious, except in the case of the two Max which will keep the same huge battery of the 13 Pro Max. Finally, it seems that Apple will finally open the very limited capacity of reverse charging with this generation: iPhone 14 should be able to charge other devices by placing them on the back. For example, AirPods headphones.
