The difference between former President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) and President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) has decreased by eleven percentage points among the electorate who live in the capitals, according to a clipping of the electoral poll for president released by Ipec (former Ibope) this week. Lula was chosen by 38% of voters in the capitals, compared to 36% who prefer Bolsonaro. Ciro Gomes (PDT) scored 9% and Simone Tebet, 3%. In the last poll, PT had 44% of voting intentions in the segment, the president 31%, Ciro 7% and Tebet 2%.
This is the first survey focused on the presidential election carried out by IPEC after the beginning of electoral propaganda on radio and television and the newscasts of Jornal Nacional, on TV Globo. The last survey had been released on August 15th.
Hired by TV Globo, the survey was carried out between the 26th and 28th of August and interviewed 2000 voters in person. The survey is registered with the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) under number BR-01979/2022. The margin of error in the segment was not disclosed.
