Yesterday, Germany condemned a meeting of Israeli ministers and extremist right-wing groups to encourage the displacement of Palestinians and the rebuilding of settlements in the Gaza Strip.
At a rally yesterday, Israeli Internal Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir urged settlers to return to Gaza.
German Foreign Ministry spokesman Sebastian Fischer said in a press statement: The participation of a number of Israeli government ministers in the conference and the speeches delivered during it are “unacceptable.”
Fisher added, “His country condemns, in the strongest possible terms, the participation of parts of the Israeli government in a conference encouraging the resettlement of Palestinians, and clearly rejects the statements that were made there.”
The German official stressed that “such considerations related to the expulsion of the Palestinian population from Gaza and the rebuilding of Israeli settlements there are completely unacceptable, as they contribute to aggravating the situation in the current conflict, and clearly violate international law.”
In this context, a spokesman for the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced yesterday that Paris denounced the holding of a conference in Jerusalem that promoted the establishment of Israeli settlements in the Gaza Strip.
