Intel recently confirmed that theInnovation 2024 will be held from 24 to 25 September in San Jose, California, with the possibility of following the event in live streaming for those who cannot be present. Intel’s Innovation event is one of the most anticipated events of the year for developers and technology enthusiasts. This is a two-day event that not only offers presentations and keynotes, but also represents an opportunity to announce new hardware intended for the general public.
In previous years, the Innovation event has seen the launch of major Intel products:
- Innovation 2021: Intel 12th Gen Core Desktop “Alder Lake”
- Innovation 2022: Intel 13th Gen Core Desktop “Raptor Lake”
- Innovation 2023: Intel Core Ultra 100 “Meteor Lake”
Specifically, last year’s event provided numerous updates on Meteor Lake, Raptor Lake, Lunar Lake and Panther Lake, as well as confirmed the Xeon 5 Emerald Rapids launch date. Intel is expected to provide updates to Arrow Lake, Granite Rapids and Gaudi 3 this year, with a particular focus on consumer products. In particular Arrow Lake, whose release is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2024, will probably be the protagonist of the event, with the official announcement of the entire desktop range.
For Arrow Lake, Intel has already teased an update during Computex on June 4, 2024, where motherboard companies are expected to showcase the Z890 platform. During Hot Chips 2024, however, the focus will be on Lunar Lake CPUs, intended for the low-power mobile CPU segment. As regards market positioning, Lunar Lake processors will in fact challenge Apple’s M-class chips and AMD APU architectures with similar designs. In addition to Lunar Lake, Intel will also discuss Granite Rapids D here, a server solution designed for the Edge and Networking segment. These new processors highlight Intel’s commitment to maintaining leadership in the server and AI industries.
