A rumor gained traction last week that Instagram was about to release an update that would show the names of those who visited its profile.

However, a spokesperson for Meta, the parent company of Instagram, told G1 that the rumors are false. “We inform you that the rumors of Instagram showing people who visited the profile in the ‘Activity’ tab are not true,” he said.
Many internet users remembered the old Orkut, which had the option for the person to know who was visiting their profile, as long as they activated the option to have their name shown when they visited someone’s profile.
At the moment, you can only check who has viewed your Instagram stories.
