There have been rumours of one for some time now State of Play scheduled for this month and perhaps now we have a precise date, according to the new intervention made by the insider and journalist Jeff Grubb in the latest episode of the Giant Bomb podcast, who also hinted at a new remaster in the works for PS5 potentially “less exciting” than Horizon Zero Dawn.
As previously reported, Venture Beat reporters said on September 12 that they expected a new PlayStation event “in about 12 days.” Today, they’ve doubled down, saying that the event is on the cards “almost certainly September 24th“.
More Remasters Coming According to Grubb, But No Bloodborne
During the podcast, the remaster of Horizon Zero Dawn for PS5 was obviously discussed, practically confirmed thanks to the classification that the ESRB let slip in advance. The existence of this remastering does not seem to have excited many players, but apparently according to Grubb it will not be the last and in fact Sony is planning at least one more remaster in his opinion even less appealing, and apparently This is not Bloodborne.
“I don’t know what they are exactly, but while I was asking about this (the Horizon Zero Dawn remaster) I heard that there is another remaster that will be even less exciting. And it’s definitely not Bloodborne,” Grubb said at around the 23:00 mark of the footage above.
We should point out that Grubb is a well-known insider within the industry but is not considered infallible, as his tips do not always turn out to be spot on. In short, for now, do not take this information at face value, while we wait for official news from Sony.
